Business services are an increasingly significant part of the UK economy. And despite fears of jobs in certain key sectors like computer services being ѥxported' to low-cost locations in Asia, the numbers of jobs in business services in this country are growing. What's more, it's a sector where we have almost eliminated the notorious productivity gap with the United States, notably in two high-skilled sectors ֠computer services and professional services, which includes accountancy, advertising and law.
These are among the conclusions of a report published today by the Advanced Institute of Management Research (AIM) on trends in ѯffshoring' of business services and its impact on the UK economy.
