Explore how much funding your area receives for key public services, and whether this funding is in line with patterns of needs
Areas in England vary in how much funding they receive for public services, and in how much they would need to spend to deliver the same level of services to their populations. For example, an area with more people in worse health living there might need more funding for health services.
This tool presents new estimates of funding and relative spending needs for a range of public services in each upper-tier local authority in England in 2022–23.
For more information about how to use this tool and what different terms mean, click on the 'Instructions' tab at the top right of the tool.
For more information on how funding is allocated and how these estimates were produced, see our full report.
