The government says its spending plans mean austerity is coming to an end. Labour disagree, calling not only for an end to spending cuts but also for reversing some past cuts and expanding what the state offers in some areas.

Join us as our expert panel discusses future government spending and tax plans: What does ‘ending austerity’ actually mean? What should Labour’s priorities be? How much freedom of manoeuvre does the Chancellor have? What would Labour do differently? And, if increased spending requires increased taxation, what are the options for raising it?
