Gautam joined the IFS in 2023 and works as a Research Economist in the Industrial Organisation and Demand sector. His current research studies the consumption behaviour of individuals over time, and seeks to identify how income and geography determine choices. Prior to joining the IFS, he completed an MPhil in Economics at the University of Oxford.
