Alison Andrew, IFS Senior Research Economist and UCL PhD candidate, has been selected for the second Review of Economic Studies (Restud) North American Tour 2022.
The tour invites Europe’s top graduating doctoral students in economics and finance to present their work to audiences in North American institutions. This year’s tour will take place October 17-21 2022 and will be hosted by Duke University, University of Minnesota and UC San Diego.
Alison will present her paper ‘Revealed Beliefs and the Marriage Market Return to Education’, on how parents in Rajasthan, India make choices about their daughters' schooling and marriage. Her research is primarily focused in India, Columbia and the UK and examines the origins of socio-economic and gender inequalities, focusing on the roles of childhood, adolescence, marriage and parenthood.
Alison will also join the University of Oxford’s Economics Department this September as an Associate Professor, while continuing to work in affiliation with the Institute for Fiscal Studies.
