An opportunity to hear a considered view of the Chancellor's 2005 Budget announcements from Institute staff.

A cemmap Master Class.

The Government's latest figures on the distribution of income and the extent of relative poverty in Britain will be released by the Department for Work and Pensions on Thursday 9th March. These figures will also tell us whether the Government met its target for child poverty to have fallen by a quarter since 1998/9. The IFS will be releasing a detailed analysis of the latest figures and recent trends, which will be presented on Monday 13th March.

The course deals with theoretical aspects of social interactions and with the empirical identification of socials interactions based on observational and experimental data.

At this workshop researchers will discuss preliminary research ideas using newly available panel data on household expenditure. The meeting is invitation only.

On Thursday 2nd March 2006, Professor James Banks will deliver an Inaugural Lecture, entitled "Economic choices, capabilities and outcomes at older ages".

Researchers at IFS present findings from the recent publication 'Newborns and New Schools: Critical Times in Women's Employment?'

This is the second invitation-only workshop, involving researchers from IFS and cemmap and economists from HM Treasury.

The IFS Green Budget 2006 will analyse the issues and challenges facing Gordon Brown as he prepares for his first Budget of this parliament. It will be published in collaboration with Morgan Stanley.

The Chancellor will make his Pre-Budget statement on Monday 5th December. IFS will hold a briefing to present our analysis of this report on the following day, Tuesday 6th December.
