This is a workshop on the globalisation of innovation, jointly organised by the IFS, HM Treasury and DIUS as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2008.

<p><p><p><p>This is a workshop on the globalisation of innovation, jointly organised by the IFS, HM Treasury and DIUS as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2008.</p><p>The workshop will present new facts about where the UK stands in terms of technology performance and consider what are some of the key policy challenges for the future. Representatives from DIUS will present their latest thinking about the direction policy is taking in this area. This workshop will be limited to a small group in order to encourage open discussion during which all participants will be able to voice their opinions.</p><p>The aim of the workshop is to bring together people from government, business and academia to discuss the most recent evidence about the opportunities and challenges that globalisation poses to the UK economy and innovation policy in particular. The workshop will provide a forum for key policy-makers, users and experts to exchange ideas. </p></p></p></p>
