Chancellor Philip Hammond will deliver the Spring Statement on Wednesday 13 March 2019, where he will respond to the OBR's latest economic and fiscal forecasts. This will also be an opportunity for him to set out government priorities ahead of the Spending Review due later in the year.
The next morning, IFS researchers will present their analysis of the public finances, putting them in the context of recent trends, and will discuss economic challenges facing the country. They will also respond to any announcements on policy made by the Chancellor and set out the impact of measures set to come into force this April.
Registration will take place between 9:30 and 10:00, and the briefing will commence at 10:00. Coffee and pastries will be served.
