I am a Lecturer (assistant professor) at the University of Liverpool.  I am an affiliated researcher at:

  • The Centre for Experimental Research on Fairness, Inequality and Rationality (FAIR-CELE)

  • CESifo

  • Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS)

I was previously employed at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and SNF from 2016-2021.  I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the Copenhagen Business School in 2016.

In the UK, the government has placed a high-emphasis on the role of technical and adult education in helping to level-up poorer areas of the country. This event will examine the potential role that adult education can play in providing a genuine second chance, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds or who leave school with few formal qualifications.

This event examined the potential role that adult education can play in providing a genuine second chance, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds or who leave school with few formal qualifications. IFS researchers set out the planned reforms in the context of recent changes to learner numbers and funding, as well as the likely impact of planned reforms given the details and evidence base.
