Carmen is a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Warwick and an Enrichment PhD scholar at IFS. She is interested in urban economics and in law and economics, and her work focuses on youth development and crime.
Carmen was born in Spain and studied International Business and Economics at University Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain). After completing a Masters at the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium) she moved to London, where she began her academic career as a research assistant at the Centre for Economic Performance in 2017. In 2023 she was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Chicago.
Alongside her PhD, Carmen has collaborated with the London Metropolitan Police in policy evaluations of police operations, and held teaching assistant positions at various universities.
