Jan Eeckhout is the author of The Profit Paradox, an account of how market power by dominant firms threatens work. He is the ICREA Research Professor at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and has taught at Upenn, University College London, Princeton and NYU. His work has been widely featured in the media, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Economist, and Financial Times. His research has been published in the top economics journals and he has received research funding from the National Science Foundation (US)  and the European Research Council (Starting and Advanced Grants), as well as private grants. He is a fellow of the Econometric Society, the European Economic Association and Academia Europaea. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics in 1998.
