Harriet joined the IFS in 2020 after completing her Masters in Economics (specialising in Development Economics) at the University of Amsterdam. Her current work focuses on investigating the impacts of sanitation interventions in developing countries and the relevance of intra-household dynamics.

We exploit novel data collected within a randomised controlled trial of a sanitation microcredit intervention to study how intra-household gender differences in perceptions of costs and benefits of sanitation impact investment decisions.
