Pierre Bachas

International Research Associate

Pierre Bachas is an economist in the Development Research Group of the World Bank. He received his PhD in Economics from UC Berkeley in 2016. His research interests are on Public Finance, Financial Inclusion and Development Economics.

His primary focus is on how tax evasion, informality and economic structure impact the design of tax policy in lower income countries. He is working in Costa Rica, Mexico and Senegal.
