Hilary is a Professor of Public Policy and Economics at the University of California, Berkeley, an International Research Fellow of the IFS and holds the Haas Distinguished Chair in Economic Disparities. Hilary chairs the CPP Advisory Board at IFS and is a member of the American Academy of Art and Sciences, the National Academy of Social Insurance and is a Fellow of the Society of Labor Economists. She previously served as a co-editor of the leading journal in economics, American Economic Review. Her research focuses on poverty, inequality, food and nutrition programs, and the impacts of government tax and transfer programs on low income families.
