Professor Amin’s work on inequality has focused on urban and regional disparities, local forms of mobilisation, and the lives of the poor living in slums. Awarded a CBE in 2014, he is a Fellow of the British Academy and a trustee of the Nuffield Foundation. In 2021 he held the Olof Palme Professorship of the Swedish Research Council at Uppsala University. His latest book, coedited with Michele Lancione is Grammars of the Urban Ground, published by Duke University Press.
