Alissa Goodman is Professor of Economics at the UCL Institute of Education, and Director of the Centre for Longitudinal Studies. She is Principal Investigator of the 1958 National Child Development Study, which is the second oldest of the UK’s renowned series of national birth cohort studies. Her main research interests relate to income inequality, poverty, education policy, and the transmission of health and well-being across generations. She previously served at the Institute for Fiscal Studies including as Deputy Director (2006-2012), and as Director of the Education and Skills research sector.
