EDePo Master Class: Credit and Insurance Systems for Growth and Development

This Master Class will focus on Credit and Insurance Systems for Growth and Development and will take place in the Ricardo Lecture Theatre, Drayton House.

Topics to be covered include economic growth, inequality, poverty and financial deepening; drivers underlying growth (education, financial access, occupation shift) both contemporary and historical, dichotomous models of occupation choice and financial deepening; examination of neoclassical benchmarks in the data for those with access/use and those without; impact assessment of government programs: and enhanced theories of self-selection to evaluate access and use of credit and insurance.

Thailand will be featured as an example but the methods are general and apply to other countries. The lectures will feature a combination of both microeconomic and macroeconomic theory and data, including specialty micro surveys, a great variety of secondary data and national accounts.
